Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Database Systems Support Engineer with deep expertise in PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MySQL, and Oracle databases to support our ServiceNow platform. This role demands a motivated and experienced professional with a strong understanding of core database concepts and architecture, and practical troubleshooting skills. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience across operating systems, storage systems, and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU GET TO DO IN THIS ROLE

You will be working closely with customers and cross-functional teams to resolve complex database and application-related issues, run benchmarking tests, and produce clear technical documentation.
Qualifications

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU HAVE:

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in database support and administration.
  • Expertise in PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MySQL, and Oracle environments.
  • Deep understanding of database internals, high availability, replication, backup and recovery, partitioning, and indexing.
  • Strong familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems and storage systems (e.g., SAN, NAS, file systems).
  • Proven experience in performance tuning and benchmarking of database systems.
  • Ability to write clear and concise documentation including run books, troubleshooting guides, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deliver technical content effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
