Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for the design, development, and deployment of the Rivian and Volkswagen Group embedded infotainment platform (i.e., displays, cameras, graphics, power management, audio, media, app lifecycle, etc).
  • Drive the software design process and code reviews while collaborating with other developers on technical issues, design choices, and decision making.
  • Own the entire software development lifecycle and uphold code through requirements analysis, effort scoping, architecture, design, development, code reviews, and quality assurance planning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors
  • Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to drive consensus across teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated 8+ years’ experience of developing embedded systems
  • Experience in full-cycle system-level software development - from requirements gathering through to implementation and maintenance.
  • Proficient skills in C and working skills in C++ and Java.
  • Experience with POSIX-based embedded systems;
  • Deep understanding of common practices applied in solutions based on embedded AOSP.
  • Deep knowledge of one or more technical areas such as displays, cameras, graphics, power management, audio, or Bluetooth.
  • Experience with system-level performance improvements, memory management, and IPC design.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred experience in managing advanced build systems and large code repositories.
  • Prior experience in developing on-vehicle technology
  • Experience building solutions with Android Automotive OS .
  • Preferred experience with low-level interfaces typical of embedded systems: such as I2C, SPI, GPIO, UART, USB, PCIe, SDIO, UFS, MDIO.
