The RoleWe’re hiring a Staff Software Engineer to help lead Alpaca’s expansion into the Middle East, focused on the UAE and Saudi markets (can be remote from EU)

This is a high-impact, founding-level engineering role where you’ll help architect and build the next generation of trading and brokerage infrastructure for the region. You’ll work closely with trading, infrastructure, and product teams to design scalable backend systems, market connectivity solutions, and event-driven architectures that power critical financial workflows.

You’ll play a key role in technical decision-making, system design, and helping shape the long-term engineering direction of Alpaca Middle East.

• What We’re Looking ForStrong backend engineering and distributed systems experience
• Experience building trading, brokerage, fintech, or capital markets systems
• Deep understanding of scalable architectures, APIs, and event-driven systems
• Strong hands-on engineering ability with experience leading complex technical initiatives
• Experience with Go, Java, C++, Python, or similar backend technologies
• Cloud and containerization experience (AWS/GCP/Kubernetes)
