Description
Overview Connecting clients to markets, and talent for opportunity. With 4,300 employees and over 400,000 retail and institutional clients from more than 80 offices across five continents, we are a Fortune 100, Nasdaq listed provider connecting clients to global markets. We focus on innovation, human connection, and deliver world class products and services to all types of investors. As a Software Engineer on the Containers team, you’ll build, run, and continuously improve our Kubernetes platform, the foundation for application delivery. You’ll work hands-on with cluster operations, networking, ingress, storage, and core platform services, partnering closely with development, security, and operations teams to support day-to-day platform needs and drive automation through infrastructure as code and CI/CD. Using cloud-native and open-source tools, you’ll help keep the platform scalable, reliable, and secure while improving performance and developer experience so teams can ship faster and with confidence. This is a highly hands-on role where your work directly shapes developer experience and platform reliability, enabling teams across the company to ship faster, safer, and at scale. Responsibilities Responsibilities Own and evolve Kubernetes platforms (Rancher/RKE2 or AKS), defining standards for upgrades, scaling strategies, performance tuning, cost/capacity management, backups, and HA architecture. Design and lead automation and golden path initiatives, including Terraform modules, Helm/Kustomize frameworks, reusable CI/CD workflows, and scalable self-service onboarding. Own GitOps architecture with Argo CD, including digest-pinned deployments, policy-as-code, image signing/SBOM integration, drift detection, and rollback strategies. Define and harden CI/CD patterns that balance speed, security, and compliance, including identity-based cloud access, approvals, and immutable audit trails. Set strategy for container supply chain security and registry governance (ACR), including promotion models and immutability. Own platform observability, defining SLOs, alerting standards, dashboards, and capacity hygiene across clusters. Partner closely with engineering, infrastructure, and security leaders on platform adoption, incident response, runbooks, and long-term planning. Act as a technical leader on the team: mentoring engineers, influencing design decisions, and contributing to roadmap planning. Ensure security and compliance controls are built into the platform by default without slowing delivery. Qualifications To land this role you will need: 5+ years in Platform, SRE, or DevOps roles with deep production Kubernetes experience. Proven ownership of complex systems and experience driving platform-level initiatives. Strong expertise in GitOps, CI/CD architecture, and Infrastructure as Code. Advanced troubleshooting skills across large-scale distributed systems. Strong communication skills and experience influencing across teams. What makes you stand out: Experience with Rancher/RKE2 or AKS in production environments. Familiarity with policy-as-code, image signing, SBOMs, or regulated CI/CD environments. Education / Certification Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience Preferred certifications: Terraform Associate, Kubernetes certifications such as CKA or CKAD Commitment to continual professional and technical development Working environment: Hybrid, four days in the office. Occasional Travel Requirements, for team collaboration meetings and conferences
