The Staff Engineer, Intellectual Property Security Technical Support drives our partnerships to ensure that Dolby IP is secure in partner products. This is a highly collaborative role, blending partner needs with the Dolby protection strategies necessary to protect our investments and revenue streams. The Staff Engineer will be a member of the partner success and support team, working closely with the regional sales. This person will align with the IP Security team and development engineering team. As a customer facing role, this position offers the opportunity to make a direct impact in the ecosystem. Responsibilities: • Establish and manage customer support for Dolby’s IP security solutions. • Assist regional support engineers in their pre-sales engagements related to IP security. • Engage directly with regional teams and partners to understand the target platforms for Dolby technologies, including the IP Security protection mechanisms. • Engage directly with partners to understand their issues integrating Dolby security controls into their products and ensure that they fulfil Dolby’s IP Security protection requirements. • Support partners in implementation of Dolby's IP protection solutions through building, compilation, integration, testing and troubleshooting. • Recreate partners’ issues on prototype platforms to assist with issue resolution. • Closely collaborate with IP Security team and the product teams to further resolve partners’ issues. • Work with internal stakeholders, including sales, program, and legal groups to improve documentation and support processes for future engagements. • Deliver trainings to regional support teams and partners on Dolby’s security solutions. • Verify and test partner security mechanisms as appropriate. Requirements: • MS/BS in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent with at least three years industry experience in security or licensing technical support. • Proactive communication, listening and negotiation skills including written and oral communications with all levels of the organization. • Proven experience in customer-facing roles. • Ability to build trust and relationships, embrace change, and balance interests from different groups. • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts into user friendly language for Clients, end-users and cross-functional teams. • Knowledge of the hardware and software mechanisms available in embedded and consumer devices: - solid understanding of applied cryptography and SW protection mechanisms - solid understanding of the C/C++ software creation process (e.g. makefiles, cross-compilation, linking, etc) - scripting ability (e.g. bash, python) - good handling of Linux command line utilities. - familiarity with SW emulation (e.g Qemu) and testing. • Proficiency in Android development and security framework, including SELinux. • Ability to run and debug complex software on hardware and/or software platforms, such as embedded devices. • Domestic and international travel (10 - 20%). • Experience in digital audio technologies is highly desirable.
