POSITION SUMMARY

Since the doors opened in 1972, this factory has grown dramatically into a sustainable state-of-the-art facility. In 2013, we completed our largest solar project yet by installing a 450-kilowatt photovoltaic system of nearly 1,900 panels. The amount of energy produced annually by this solar array could power nearly 52 average-sized homes, or approximately 5,000 lights bulbs for an entire year. With sustainability and safety always top of mind, our Atlanta factory proudly and passionately produces 460,000 tons a year of our dry pet food brands, including Alpo®, Beneful®, Cat Chow®, Dog Chow®, Fit & Trim®, Friskies®, Nestlé Purina ONE® and Pro Plan®. This plant location is just along the southern crescent of Metro Atlanta – an area that nearly 5 million residents and over 340 of our associates can call home. Atlanta is considered the major commercial and financial center of the Southeast and, if this beautiful city were a country, it would be the 28th largest economy in the world.

As a Staff Engineer, you will lead the design, estimation and execution of factory capital improvement projects such as new equipment installations, infrastructure upgrades and safety enhancements. You will investigate and resolve plant operational concerns and drive process improvement. You will proactively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives utilizing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tools and methods.

• Plan and direct capital projects to expand and improve factory operations, upgrade and maintain our infrastructure, utilities and grounds, in accordance with state and federal regulations, company policies and procedures
• Design layout and integration of new equipment into the factory and manufacturing process, including all required utilities and material flow
• Work with cross-functional groups of employees and contractors to successfully manage and execute key projects while ensuring compliance with all company standards including safety, quality and cost control
• Participate in Nestle Continuous Excellence (NCE) operational reviews and use TPM methodology to uncover and resolve the causes of unplanned downtime
• Support factory maintenance by providing engineering assistance as needed
• Champion Nestlé safety, health, quality and environmental objectives and foster a work environment that enables our operations to perform among the safest companies in the marketplace

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field
• 1+ years of experience in an engineering role within a manufacturing, industrial, military or related environment
  The approximate pay range for this position is $84,000 - $108,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
