This is achieved by investigating the intrinsic reliability of semiconductor devices/circuits and sensors. The iRel Group is made of up of a range of engineering disciplines including electronics, physics and mathematics. The group is split across three locations namely, ADLK (Limerick, Ireland), ADWL (Wilmington, MA) and ADSV (San Jose, CA). The successful candidate will reside in ADLK. The Position: The position to be filled is for a Staff Intrinsic Reliability Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for the lifetime characterization of novel technologies such as electrochemical metabolite and gas sensors for medical, industrial and automotive applications through device reliability testing. Main Responsibilities: Collaboration with Quality and R&D Teams to de-risk ADI’s incoming pipeline of next generation sensors through reliability testing utilizing industry standard methods but also development of new stress tests and techniques. Function as the SME for electrochemical technology quality within the Global Quality Team. Collaboration with Quality and R&D Teams to identify root cause and corrective actions for failures. Development of statistical lifetime models to evaluate long term technology robustness. Requirements: Degree in Chemistry, Biomedical engineering or a related technical discipline. Experience in reliability testing, failure analysis, validation, and verification within a product development or manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of statistical analysis methods and handling experimental data; proficiency in tools such as JMP or Minitab is essential. Working knowledge of Python or similar scripting languages for automation or analysis. Ability to design and execute test plans, DOEs, and validation protocols to support product verification and reliability assessments. Familiarity with problem-solving methodologies such as root cause analysis, FMEA, and corrective/preventive actions; Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or above) is desirable. Understanding or background in electrochemistry, sensors, or medical device technology is highly beneficial. Experience working within a highly regulated sector (such as medical devices, pharma, automotive, or aerospace), with knowledge of relevant regulatory and quality standards (ISO 13485, GMP, FDA requirements). Strong analytical mindset with the ability to challenge data, assumptions, and methodologies.
