Description

AT FULLSCRIPT, WE’RE NOT JUST CHANGING HEALTHCARE—WE’RE MAKING IT WHOLE.

We help 100,000+ healthcare practitioners support 10 million patients with a platform that delivers evidence-based health solutions, diagnostic support, and practitioner tools—all in one place.
Healthcare today is disconnected. We’re fixing that. Fullscript makes it easier for practitioners to treat the whole person, not just symptoms, so patients get the support they need—when they need it.
We’re building a better way—one where healthcare is connected, complete, and built for impact.
We are looking for a Staff Engineer, Search to partner with a technical lead and impact the technical vision, strategy, and execution for Fullscript’s search experience. The Search Team is responsible for everything search-related on the Fullscript platform, enabling healthcare practitioners and patients to seamlessly find the right products to support their wellness journeys. As a Staff Engineer, you will impact the roadmap, improve the relevance and performance of our search functionality, and collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and product managers to deliver a world-class search experience.
This role requires a deep understanding of search technologies, relevance tuning, large-scale indexing, and machine learning-based search enhancements. You will work closely with engineering leadership, mentor other engineers, and set the technical direction for our search infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and drive technical strategy, architecture, and execution for Fullscript’s search experience.
  • Design, implement, and optimize search algorithms, indexing strategies, and relevance tuning techniques.
  • Collaborate with Product, Data, and Engineering teams to develop and refine search functionality.
  • Improve search ranking through techniques like vector search, learning-to-rank, synonym expansion, and query understanding.
  • Solve performance issues related to search scalability, speed, and data indexing.
  • Develop logging and monitoring solutions to track search performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct technical deep dives and code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
  • Drive best practices in search engineering, including A/B testing, observability, and automated evaluation.
  • Provide mentorship and technical leadership to engineers on the Search team and beyond.
