JOB DESCRIPTION

Sportradar‘s Sports Virtualisation unit located in Bremen, Germany, develops innovative and disruptive technology to enable the transition from traditional sports media consumption to new ways to engage with sports.The latest computer vision technology is key to allowing real-time rendering of statistics and virtual ads on top of broadcasts. It also enables the use of skeletal tracking data to render virtual recreations of sports events and transform the way they are experienced. Together with the top leagues and federations around the globe, we are working on our vision for a range of products to increase fan engagement for the world of tomorrow.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Engineer to join our dynamic team. We are seeking for someone with a strong background in software development with C++, C#, or Java, and will be proficient in public cloud providers like AWS. This role involves working closely with various development teams on our sports media and sports betting products, including augmented video streaming, and interactive applications for fan engagement in sports, utilising modern 3D engines like Unreal 5 and Unity. The Staff Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting architectural decisions, driving product implementation and deployment, and guiding development teams with best practices in software engineering.
This is a hybrid Bremen-based role with three office days per week!

Responsibilities
  • Architectural Support: Collaborate with development teams to design and implement robust, scalable, and efficient architectures for our sports media products.
  • Hands-On Development: Engage in hands-on coding and development to drive the implementation of key product features and functionalities.
  • Deployment: Oversee the CI/CD process, ensuring smooth and efficient delivery of products using AWS native services.
  • Best Practices: Guide development teams in adopting best practices in software engineering, including code reviews, testing, and documentation.
  • Mentorship: Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and operations, to ensure alignment and successful delivery of products.
  • Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, and proactively suggest improvements and innovations to enhance our products.
