We are seeking a Staff Environmental Scientist (EIR Scientist 3) to join our Charlotte, NC team! Come join us!

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, Geography, or other related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience (5+ years preferred) including a combination of field work, sampling, data evaluation, technical writing, and QA/QC in the environmental consulting field.
  • Working knowledge of procedures and methodologies related to due diligence, site investigation, remediation, and environmental compliance.
  • Conduct and document field activities such as soil, soil vapor and groundwater sampling, installation of soil borings and monitoring wells, and tank excavations and/or removals. Ability for overnight travel (typically in-state) as needed.
  • Experience with implementation of health and safety requirements. Ability to perform moderately strenuous tasks.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently or in a team setting.
  • Excellent problem solving and general scientific evaluation skills.
  • Excellent time management skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple activities on an on-going basis.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 40-hr HAZWOPER training and 8-hour annual refresher.
  • Strong technical, analytical and research skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Responsibilities
  • Perform field work related to environmental, due diligence, remediation, and Brownfields projects in North Carolina and South Carolina.
  • Work closely with the Environmental Department Manager to perform requested client/project tasks in both a field and office setting.
  • Actively participate in professional and technical organizations appropriate for core skill set and client needs.
  • Positively interact with internal and external clients, service partners, and contractors.
  • Promote a safety-first culture that values proactive measures and continuous improvement.
  • Preparing technical reports including but not limited to proposals, work plans, environmental reports, permit applications, and health & safety plans
  • Organizing and prioritize a diverse workload; maintain accurate records • Collaborate with other team members toward a common goal of providing client-centric services with high quality interactions and deliverables.
