Responsibilities

The Staff Housing Caretaker is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the staff accommodation located on-site at Scandinave Spa Whistler as well as valley housing, located within Whistler. This role involves maintaining a clean, safe, and supportive environment and provide guidance and resources to occupants. The Caretaker will collaborate with HR, the Maintenance team, and contractors to ensure smooth operations and resolve issues promptly.

  • Attend all Staff Accommodation Caretaker scheduled meetings, and training sessions, including but not limited to WCSS, First Aid and Leadership trainings.
  • Support HR with communication related to staff accomodation and provide administrative assistance, including but not limited to incident reports, person-of-concern reports, maintenance work orders, and unit inspection reports.
  • Conduct monthly inspections of all on-site and off-site units.
  • Collaborate closely with the Maintenance team to coordinate necessary repairs and upgrades for staff accommodation units.
  • Coordinate and manage contractor services related to staff accommodation.
  • Schedule and perform check-in and check-out inspections for staff accommodation units.
  • Schedule inspections of common areas indoors and outdoors to ensure they remain clean and clutter-free.
  • During deep clean season (May and October), organize and coordinate the deep cleans of all units. Perform post-clean inspections and complete inventory checklists for each unit, noting furniture condition and reporting to HR if replacements are needed.
  • Communicate scheduled working hours to all occupants to ensure occupants are aware when they can connect regarding staff accommodation inquiries or concerns.
  • Maintain and update the assigned bulletin boards.
  • Provide guidance to support wellness and navigating transitions. Respond to and provide assistance and resources during emergencies or employees experiencing concerns or challenges.
  • Ensure strict confidentiality and discretion in handling all sensitive information at all times.
  • Ensure all required documentation for staff accommodation is complete and properly filed in staff folders.
  • Prepare and manage payroll information related to staff accommodation.
  • Complete all other duties as required by HR and/or the General Manager.
