This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Staff/Lead Engineer, Back End - Video Generation in Europe. In this role, you will be at the forefront of building and maintaining critical infrastructure for high-performance video generation systems. You will focus on enhancing the resilience, scalability, and observability of complex backend pipelines, while owning long-term projects from concept to production. Collaborating across engineering and product teams, you will ensure that your work directly supports commercial objectives and helps scale internal platforms efficiently. Accountabilities Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend systems for video generation pipelines. Build monitoring, debugging, and data-driven evaluation tools to ensure system reliability and performance. Own projects end-to-end, breaking down complex problems into iterative, deliverable steps. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering solutions with commercial and product goals. Contribute to long-term technical strategy, ensuring platform architecture supports future growth and scalability. Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration. 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior engineering role. Strong backend expertise, particularly in Python; frontend experience (React) is a plus. Extensive experience with AWS and cloud-native architectures. Proven track record of platform engineering, building internal tools or systems used by multiple teams. Experience in high-performing engineering environments, such as scale-ups or established technology companies. Leadership experience with smaller teams, including mentoring and technical guidance. Strong commercial awareness, aligning technical decisions with business impact. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Competitive base salary starting at EUR/GBP/CHF 100,000 plus stock option plan. Full-time, permanent employment with 25 days of leave plus local holidays.
