Title: Staff Medical Officer – Home Health Palliative Care – HHS Department: Outreach Services Entity: Aga Khan University Hospital Location: Karachi, Pakistan Introduction: The Aga Khan University Hospital in addition to its five Hospitals creates access through its Outreach Services which include Clinical Laboratories, Outpatient Medical Centres, Pharmacy services, Home Health and other services. Outreach Services are designed to provide primary to secondary healthcare services to patients near their homes and are present in several cities across Pakistan. Outpatient Medical Centres offer a range of specialty clinics including Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Cardiopulmonary, Orthopedics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics and Physiotherapy, and cater to children, adults, and elderly patients for general health checks or specific disease consultations. Responsibilities: Strong clinical knowledge across a broad spectrum of medical conditions Proficiency in common procedures (IV cannulation, wound care, catheterization, ECG interpretation, etc.) Effective communication skills with patient, families, and interdisciplinary teams Ability to perform under pressure and manager multiple priorities in a busy emergency setting Solid documentation and medical record-keeping skills Understanding of and adherence to infection control practices Proactive in professional development and peer education Emotionally resilient and adaptable to demanding clinical environments Upholds professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct ways. Requirements: Minimum 12 years post-MBBS clinical experience in a recognized hospital (>100 beds) OR Minimum 8 years of experience with an additional diploma or MCPS Experience in acute, emergency or urgent care settings is highly desirable.
