Role Summary: The Staff NOC Analyst serves as the first line of defense for enterprise infrastructure, ensuring the stability of networks, systems, and cloud platforms. This role focuses on real-time execution—monitoring, triage, and rapid incident resolution. The ideal candidate has strong technical troubleshooting skills and the ability to execute defined runbooks in a 24/7 operational environment. Key Responsibilities Monitoring & Incident Response (Core Operations) Real-Time Monitoring: Utilize tools (e.g., New Relic, Datadog, Prometheus/Grafana, or similar) to monitor network infrastructure, cloud platforms, and applications for performance, availability, and security alerts Triage & Resolution: Act as the first-line response to outages or degradations; perform initial troubleshooting and restore service whenever possible Alert Validation: Perform alert triage and validation to assess impact, ensuring noise reduction by filtering false positives Security Awareness: Detect operational symptoms of security incidents (e.g., unusual traffic) and escalate to the SOC according to established security protocols Routine Operations & Maintenance Runbook Execution: Execute step-by-step runbooks and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to handle common incidents and routine tasks consistently Backup & Job Management: Monitor scheduled backups and batch processes, identifying stalled jobs and taking immediate corrective action Maintenance Support: Monitor system stability during maintenance windows and validate post-change system health to ensure no adverse impacts Routine Health Checks: Perform routine checks on servers, routers, and switches to ensure redundancy systems (failover, load balancers) are fully operational Communication & Documentation Ticket Management: Accurately document incident details, categorization, and resolution steps in the ticketing system Escalation: Identify complex problems that exceed Level 1 scope and escalate to senior engineers or specific teams (e.g., CloudOps/SRE) following defined processes Reporting: Assist in generating daily/weekly operational reports regarding network health and performance trends Qualifications & Experience Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field Experience: 5+ years of experience in IT or Network Operations Technical Skills: Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) Hands-on experience with monitoring tools (New Relic, Datadog, Prometheus/Grafana, or similar) Basic knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, and security principles Soft Skills: Strong analytical capabilities, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work effectively in a high-pressure 24/7 shift environment Certifications: CCNA, Network+, or equivalent is highly preferred #LI-NR5 #LI-Hybrid SonicWall is an equal opportunity employer.
