Description:

If you are a caring, dynamic and innovative registered nurse, we would like you to come and work with us nursing elderly patients. The ward is managed by the Senior Sister and her team with support from the Elderly Care Consultants from St Luke’s Hospital and Bradford Royal Infirmary. You will have access to training such as supporting people with dementia and Enhanced Care of Older People. Staff newly appointed into the service will be supported and developed in this role to not only become competent elderly care nurses but become nurses who will deliver a “first class” service to our patient’s. Responsible for the assessment of patients’ care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of patient care
Participates in team leadership and the management of the ward/department, including supervision and delegation of work to junior staff as directed by the ward/department manager
Participates in teaching, mentoring and assessing of students, trainees and professional staff
The post is an integral part of the multidisciplinary team which contributes to the effective and economical use of available resources such as stock control and the ordering of supplies. The jobholder will be required to supervise junior staff on a day to day basis as directed by the line manager.
