EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Registered Nurse with SNB
• Preferably a Registered Mental Health Nurse /Adv Dip Mental Health

• Assesses, Triage and identifies the vulnerable and patients with high-risk conditions so that they will be attended to promptly
• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care plan for Observation ward patients according to the physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of each patient, and makes recommendations for any changes if needed
• Administers medication, performs treatment and attends to other medical orders according to hospital policy
• Supports the patient to participate in prescribed treatment plans
• Reports pertinent observations and reactions of observation ward patients to the clinicians and records them accurately and concisely
• Provides health teaching to patients and their families as appropriate
• Seeks information from other resources for incorporation in assessment and treatment plans
• Collaborates with other members of the multi-disciplinary team in the management of patients; management of patients in psychiatric/ medical emergency
• Participates in orientation and training of students and new staff
• Participates in Pandemic and IMH Care Team activatio
