Description

Watford Satellite Dialysis Band 5 Staff Nurse
Hammersmith Hospital, located in West London is home to the “hub” of our modern, dynamic and very large Renal and Transplant service. Renal Services at this site include an acute renal replacement therapy unit, a peritoneal dialysis unit, a highly successful deceased and live donor transplantation service, inpatient nephrology care (including high dependency and intensive care), a dedicated renal assessment and admissions unit and our renal out-patient clinics.
We also have nine haemodialysis centres, and we are currently recruiting for the Watford Satellite Unit
Dialysis patients typically spend many years under our care, and we develop and enjoy close relationships with them and their families.
Much of the management and care of our dialysis patients is nurse-led. Staff nurses learn to manage renal anaemia, renal bone metabolism, arterio-venous access, optimization of dialysis treatment outcomes and much more.
This is a fantastic place to start or develop a rewarding career. You will gain specific dialysis skills, and a wealth of nephrology knowledge, as well as broader skills and experience in areas including diabetes, hypertension, and palliative care. You will learn how best to support people living with long-term conditions. If you are interested, we can help you arrange to rotate to other parts of the Renal Service to gain wide clinical experience.
To provide high quality, effective, individualised care to all haemodialysis patients
To assess care needs and develop, implement and evaluate them without supervision
At Imperial College Healthcare you can achieve extraordinary things with extraordinary people, working with leading clinicians pushing boundaries in patient care.
Become part of a vibrant team living our values - expert, kind, collaborative and aspirational. You’ll get an experience like no other and will fast forward your career.
Benefits include career development, flexible working and wellbeing, staff recognition scheme. Make use of optional benefits including Cycle to Work, car lease schemes, season ticket loan or membership options for onsite leisure facilities.
We are committed to equal opportunities and improving the working lives of our staff and will consider applications to work flexibly, part time or job share. Please talk to us at interview.
