Accountable to Matrons/ Service Manager / Head of Nursing The post holder will play a key role in supporting the nurse managers in providing high quality care. He / she will be prepared to work within the divisions as a Named Nurse, within a Team taking responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care.
The post holder will be a clinically credible practitioner who can provide effective patient care in a range of clinical settings, having regard for relevant policies and the evidence base nursing.
The post holder will provide support and mentorship for students and junior nurses.
You will be responsible for assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating nursing care with opportunities to increase your skills, knowledge and experience. You must possess excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. We aim for our new team members to develop and take an active role in helping to make improvements on the unit and most importantly, to the care given to our patients.
Supported by the Practice Development team, you will receive a thorough induction and a tailored orientation programme, as well as a period of supernumerary practice. All newly qualified nurses will be offered our accredited preceptorship programme. Continuing professional development and post-registration education is actively encouraged through the provision of in-house study days and courses at the local universities to help build your nursing career.
