UPMC McKeesport is hiring a Full-Time Staff Nurse to support the 5M Stepdown Unit. The 5M Unit has a large focus on teamwork and collaboration and is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of their patients! This full-time position will work 3, 12-hour shifts per week; some weekends and holidays are required. * Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary from the My Nursing Career Ladder based on their individual experience and education. Ability to establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, other departments, and patients/families. Good clinical judgment with critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities required as related to various aspects of patient care. Critical thinking skills necessary to exercise and to lead others in the application of the nursing process. Mobility and visual manual dexterity. Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients. BSN preferred. Completion of UPMC student nurse internship or student clinical transitions course at UPMC preferred. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: Current Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Temporary Practice Permit (TPP). Graduate Nurses must complete the licensure examination within 4 months of hire or within one year of graduation- whichever comes first. UPMC requires that GNs take the licensure examination within 4 months of their start date, or they will be terminated or demoted from the GN position, at the discretion of the BU. UPMC-approved national certification is preferred. NIH Certification will be required within 6 months of hire. CPR is required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
