Job Description – Staff Nurse (Dialysis Centre) Position: Staff Nurse – Dialysis Centre Department: Dialysis Services Location: As Assigned Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in a Dialysis Unit (Mandatory) Qualification: B.Sc. Nursing / GNM with valid Nursing Council Registration Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Staff Nurse with a minimum of 3 years of dialysis experience to provide high-quality patient care in our Dialysis Centre. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering safe and efficient dialysis treatment while ensuring patient comfort, infection control, and adherence to clinical protocols. Key Responsibilities Prepare dialysis machines and equipment before each treatment session. Assess patients before, during, and after dialysis, documenting vital signs and clinical observations. Initiate, monitor, and terminate dialysis treatments as per physician's orders. Monitor patients for complications during dialysis and provide timely interventions. Maintain strict infection prevention and control practices. Administer medications and intravenous therapies as prescribed. Ensure proper vascular access care, including AV fistula, graft, and catheter management. Educate patients and caregivers on dialysis care, medication adherence, dietary restrictions, and lifestyle modifications. Maintain accurate nursing documentation and patient records. Coordinate with Nephrologists, Dialysis Technicians, Dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Respond effectively to medical emergencies and initiate Basic Life Support (BLS) when required. Ensure dialysis machines and equipment are maintained and report any technical issues promptly. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and departmental meetings. Adhere to hospital policies, ethical standards, and patient safety guidelines. Required Skills & Competencies Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in Dialysis Nursing. Strong knowledge of dialysis procedures, nephrology nursing practices, and emergency management. Excellent patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills. Familiarity with infection control protocols and dialysis safety standards. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team. Compassionate, patient-focused, and committed to delivering quality care.
