ABOUT YOU We are hiring a highly motivated individual to join the Joint Support and Enabling Command (JSEC) as Staff Officer (Finance and Accounting). In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of transactions, payments and receipts, and provide advice pertaining to all issues with financial and accounting implications. Your subject matter expertise will be used for a wide range of activities requiring your analytical skills, independent judgement and forward-thinking approach. By recommending course of action on the implementation of accounting, financial and IPSAS policies, your work plays a key role in supporting the objectives of the Finance and Accounting Branch and your performance contributes directly to JSEC's end of the year procedures and the Financial Statement. If this resonates with you, apply here: NATO - NATO Vacancies YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE The ideal candidate will have Sufficient, current professional experience related to the role; University Degree in accounting, finance, management, business administration, public administration or related discipline or Higher Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training in that discipline leading to a professional qualification; Working knowledge of Automatic Data Processing (ADP) systems; A good command of English both written and spoken. The following would be considered as an advantage: Experience in an international/military organization; Experience dealing with funds and forecasting requirements; Experience processing commitments, payments and collections; Experience in maintenance of computerized fiscal accounts; Experience in performing financial analysis and utilizing resources; Experience in business process re-engineering or change management; Familiarity and hand-on experience in operation of automated financial systems used in NATO; Thorough understanding of financial regulations and procedures in a complex organization (preferably NATO); Any further training certificates and courses related to subject field or acquired through NATO; Due to frequent interaction with local/Host Nation suppliers, knowledge of German language is desirable.
