Responsibilities:
POSITION SUMMARY:
Pharmacists perform the day-to-day responsibilities of receiving and interpreting medication orders, verifying order entry in computer system, and dispensing medication products. Pharmacists also consult with patients, physicians, nurses, discharge planners, and other members of the health care team to provide meaningful and accurate drug information to effectively manage the patient’s medication therapy. Pharmacists oversee and supervise pharmacy technicians and other non-licensed personnel in the pharmacy. They perform therapeutic intervention as needed, provide drug information and consultation to other professional staff and patients, maintain patient profiles, perform drug therapy monitoring, and perform drug compounding. This position is a Direct Care Provider as defined in Pharmacy Policy.
