Escape the Toronto Grind: Full-Time Staff Pharmacist in Yellowknife, NT
Are you a Toronto pharmacist seeking a rewarding career with unparalleled work-life balance and a significant boost to your financial well-being? A well-established retail pharmacy in the vibrant city of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, is seeking a dedicated Ontario-licensed pharmacist to join our close-knit team.
This is your chance to escape the high costs and long commutes, enjoy breathtaking northern landscapes, and keep more of your hard-earned money.

Why Make the Move from Toronto? Financial Benefits & Lifestyle:

  • Exceptional Compensation & Benefits:

o $160,000 Annual Salary for a 35-hour average work week.
o Keep More of Your Pay: As a resident of the Northwest Territories, you benefit from some of the lowest personal income tax rates in Canada, significantly increasing your net income compared to Ontario.
o Substantial Bonus Structure: Annual retention/Christmas bonus (approx. $20,000).
o Generous Paid Time Off: 6 weeks of vacation per year + 12% vacation pay.

o Travel Benefit: Annual flight reimbursement of up to $3,000 for your holidays.

  • Achievable Homeownership:

o Significantly Lower Cost of Living: Experience the financial freedom that comes with a more affordable market. The average cost of a home in Yellowknife is considerably lower than in Toronto, making the dream of owning a house a tangible reality.

  • Unmatched Work-Life Balance:

o Stable, Predictable Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM.
o Closed on weekends and all statutory holidays. Reclaim your personal time, guaranteed.

o No injection services required.

  • Full Relocation Support:

o Moving costs covered (details discussed in interview).
o Potential housing assistance to help you get settled.
o A supportive team environment with 2 other pharmacists and a pharmacy assistant.

Your Role & Responsibilities:

  • Dispensing approximately 170 prescriptions per day with accuracy and care.
  • Providing outstanding patient consultation and building relationships within the community.
  • Working efficiently with the Kroll pharmacy system.
  • Collaborating with a supportive team in a professional and friendly environment.

Ideal Candidate:

  • You are a licensed pharmacist in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP).
  • You value patient interaction and community-focused care.
  • You are looking for a professional adventure and a healthier, more financially sustainable lifestyle.

How to Apply & Licensing in the NWT:
We understand that relocating and transferring a license is a significant step. The process for an Ontario-licensed pharmacist to become licensed with the Northwest Territories Pharmaceutical Association (NTPA) is straightforward, largely based on reciprocity.
1. Express Your Interest: Submit your resume and cover letter to us.
2. Initial Discussion: We will schedule an introductory call with the pharmacy owner to discuss the role and your questions in detail.
3. License Application: Upon a successful interview, we will guide and support you through the NTPA application process, which typically involves submitting your credentials from OCP.
4. Offer & Relocation: Once your NWT license is in process, we will extend a formal offer and begin planning your move!
