As the Staff Pharmacist, you’ll be responsible for reviewing and dispensing prescriptions, advising patients and healthcare providers, and ensuring the safe preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical products. You’ll also play a key role in helping patients understand their medications and offering support for minor health concerns. The ideal candidate is licensed to practice in Manitoba, experienced with Kroll, and comfortable providing injections. Strong communication, attention to detail, and a commitment to exceptional patient care are essential.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • License in good standing to practice pharmacy in Manitoba
  • Strong understanding of Kroll
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service abilities
  • Reliable transportation
  • Availability to work Saturdays
  • Able to administer medications by Injection
  • Additional Prescribing Authorization (optional)
Responsibilities
  • Check prescriptions for proper dosage
  • Compound prescribed pharmaceutical products by calculating, measuring and mixing the quantities of drugs and other ingredients required and filling appropriate containers with correct quantity
  • Dispense prescribed pharmaceuticals to customers or to other health care professionals and advise them on indications, contra-indications, adverse effects, drug interactions, and dosage
  • Maintain medication profiles of customers including registry of poisons and narcotic and controlled drugs
  • Ensure proper preparation, packaging, distribution and storage of vaccines, serums, biologicals, and other drugs and pharmaceuticals
  • Offer information to assist patients in understanding how to properly take their prescribed medications
  • Assist patients in solving problems, such as identifying old medication or finding an over-the-counter solution to minor health issues
