Description
Basic Home Infusion is looking for a staff pharmacist to join our team in Farmers Branch TX. This is a hands on sterile-compounding role. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Review prescriptions issued by a physician or other authorized prescribers to assure accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed. * Prepares, fills and compounds medications using standard formulas and processes such as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients. * Enters data such as patient name, prescribed medication and cost, to maintain pharmacy files and inventory. * Maintain and provide drug usage reports to our pharmaceutical partners as requested. * Perform PMP reporting in compliance with state requirements. * Plans and organizes activities in pharmacy services to ensure patient needs are met in accordance with Physician request, administrative procedures, and best practices. * Engages in continuing education activities and other CEU opportunities related to improving pharmacy services. * Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the DOP or Pharmacy Manager. * Ensuring the development, implementation, enforcement and updating as needed of company policies and procedures. * Participate in the quality assurance program for patient care. * Ensure ongoing monitoring assessment of documentation appropriateness, as well as effectiveness and safety of drug therapy. * Assists DOP and Pharmacy Manager to ensure that the pharmacy follows all State and Federal laws and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy. Qualifications: * Graduate of an accredited school of Pharmacy * TX Pharmacist license in good standing * Additional state pharmacist licenses a plus * USP 797 compounding experience * Infusion/IV experience * Willing to obtain additional state licensure as required
Responsibilities
The pharmacist is responsible for reviewing prescriptions and performing hands-on sterile compounding of medications. They also manage pharmacy data, ensure compliance with state and federal laws, and participate in quality assurance programs.
