DBS&A is seeking a qualified and motivated technician to join our diverse technical team in our Lubbock, Texas office. You will tackle a wide range of clients’ challenges related to contaminated sites, including site investigation/assessment; groundwater sampling; and design, construction, operation, troubleshooting, repair, and upgrade of remediation systems. DBS&A is a water resources, engineering, and environmental consulting firm providing comprehensive services in groundwater and surface water hydrology and soil science. Why we want you FOR this position * You want to apply your aptitude for problem-solving and analytical thinking to work independently on environmental remediation projects * You are looking to expand on your knowledge and understanding of remediation systems, including their electrical, pneumatic, telemetry, and plumbing components * You are experienced in the operation of remediation systems and environmental sampling and monitoring protocols * You are OSHA HAZWOPER certified and have familiarity with automated water samplers and monitoring systems * You have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written * You have the ability to work with a diverse group of professionals on water management and environmental issues in multiple states, with extensive travel More about this opportunity on a day-to-day basis Your average workday will consist of a wide variety of activities working under the direct supervision of a Project Manager (Professional Geologist and/or Professional Engineer) on environmental projects, including: * Performing site investigation/assessment tasks at leaking petroleum storage tank (LPST) and/or Superfund sites in Texas, New Mexico, or other parts of the western U.S. * Operating, troubleshooting, and repair of remediation systems/components * Collecting water, soil, and air samples * Providing construction oversight * Managing subcontractors on-site * Working on project teams This position may require extensive travel, including possible evenings, weekends, and holidays, and requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and work in adverse weather conditions. This position also requires that the potential employee pass a pre-employment drug screen. Potential employees must also undergo a pre-employment physical and must possess and maintain a driving record acceptable to our insurer. Position level and compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
