JOB SUMMARY: As part of a collaborative, dynamic, multidisciplinary team, the PCU RN provides direct patient care, delegating those interventions which may be performed by others, and takes a lead role in maintaining a safe environment for the rendering of effective nursing care. Utilizing the nursing process, the RN provides safe, effective, and compassionate care with a focus on restoring and promoting patient health and well-being, and partners with patients, families, and the care team in the planning and coordination of care. DEPT. SCOPE OF SERVICE The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is a 23-bed inpatient unit serving a diverse patient population with acute medical and surgical needs, including those requiring advanced monitoring and assessment Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Graduate of RN accredited program required, BSN Preferred. Experience: Ambulatory Care or Same Day Surgery experience Recent critical care or pre/post surgical experience ACLS Certification Computer skills and previous electronic charting experience Licensure/Certification: Registered Nurse currently licensed by the State of Vermont required or compact license required OSHA CATEGORY OSHA Category I - Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues require use of techniques of Universal Precautions as evidenced with blood borne pathogens standards.
