Description Brattleboro Memorial Hospital / Southern Vermont Health Services Corporation Job Description Job Title: Progressive Care Unit Nurse Job Code: 250 Hours: 0700-1930 FTE: .9 (36 hours/week) Weekend Schedule: every other weekend (potential for every 3rd) Holiday Schedule: rotating holidays Call Schedule: no on call FLSA Status: Non-exempt Department Name: Progressive Care Unit Department Code: 6120 Location: Brattleboro, Vermont POSITION SUMMARY As part of a collaborative, dynamic, multidisciplinary team, the PCU RN provides direct patient care, delegating those interventions which may be performed by others, and takes a lead role in maintaining a safe environment for the rendering of effective nursing care. Utilizing the nursing process, the RN provides safe, effective, and compassionate care with a focus on restoring and promoting patient health and well-being, and partners with patients, families, and the care team in the planning and coordination of care. DEPARTMENT SCOPE OF SERVICE The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is an acuity adjustable unit providing care to a diverse patient population requiring medical-surgical and telemetry levels of care. In addition, we see higher level of care patients, including but not limited to those on BiPap, titratable drips, or with hemodynamic instability requiring more frequent interventions and monitoring. The PCU is a 24/7/365 service with 25 beds. The team includes hospital medicine, care management, physical therapy and respiratory collaborating together to provide the best patient care possible. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Graduate of accredited RN program. EXPERIENCE/SKILL SETS: Previous acute care experience preferred LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION(S): Registered Nurse currently licensed by the State of Vermont BLS Healthcare Provider status ACLS within 6 months of hire Additional requirements: Lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity. Normal or corrected vision/hearing. Lifting and/or moving patients from one point to another. Requires ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities. Ability to work with patients, families and public experiencing stressful situations. Ability to perform keyboarding functions. Environment & Working Conditions: Potential exposure to hazardous material, body fluids, bloodborne pathogens and communicable diseases. Potential for injury due to physical demands. Compensation Disclosure in Accordance with Vermont Act 155 In compliance with Vermont Act 155, Brattleboro Memorial Hospital provides the compensation range for this position in good faith. The listed range represents the pay scale reasonably expected for a successful candidate based on factors such as relevant experience, education, internal equity, and market competitiveness. Final compensation will be determined during the hiring process.
