Job DetailsJob Location: Mechanicsville, VA 23111Salary Range: $21.60 - $29.00 HourlyJob Summary: The staff scheduler is responsible for scheduling adequate nursing staff to provide quality resident care. Essential Job Responsibilities: 1. Develop and maintain master work schedules for nursing staff on healthcare, assisted living and Memory Support. 2. Make changes to schedule (s) as needed to ensure adequate care for residents and meet regulatory requirements. 3. Incorporate PAL requests from staff into scheduling process. 4. Communicate closely with Unit Managers and DON to anticipate needs and make necessary schedule changes. 5. Publish and or email schedules within reasonable time frames for staff to plan accordingly. 6. Verify and monitor Nursing Agency invoices for payroll. 7. Monitor computer scheduling software daily for staff changes and update as needed. 8. Assist payroll with calculating and verifying PBJ Hours for Nursing staff. 9. Assist with onboarding of new nursing staff and providing access to scheduling software. 10. Monitor and report to DON and Unit Managers of nursing staff compliance with BLS/First Aid and CPR. 11. All other duties as assigned. Job Specification: The staff scheduler needs basic computer skills; organizational skills; attention to detail and time sensitive abilities, use of phone, fax, copier; interpersonal skills, flexibility in work hours and workflow; and professional communication skills. Working Conditions: Works in a clean, well-lighted environment. May work alone or with others. Sometimes must work in noisy conditions. May be subject to infections, odors, or diverse behaviors. Follows Covenant Woods safety guidelines and practices at all times. QualificationsPhysical Requirements: Work requires sitting, standing most of the workday. Walking required at times, during the day. Manual dexterity required at all times. Stooping, kneeling and crouching are infrequently required. Must be able to lift and carry an average of ten pounds. Must be able to adequately hear in-person and on the telephone.
Responsibilities
The Staff Scheduler is responsible for developing and maintaining master work schedules for nursing staff across healthcare, assisted living, and memory support units. They ensure adequate resident care by coordinating with managers and monitoring compliance with certifications.
