Shift and Status Full time, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., no weekends. Job Summary The Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and maintaining daily patient visit schedules for nursing staff, including LPNs, float nurses, and contingent team members. This position ensures timely coverage of patient visits when staff are on PTO, call in, or when new visits arise throughout the day. The Nurse Scheduler collaborates closely with clinical leadership to support efficient workflow and patient care continuity. This role also serves as the backup for the Aide Scheduler position. Essential Functions Works collaboratively with other personnel in matters related to scheduling coverage aspects of patient care. Assists with patient scheduling function as needed. Completes all functions of the staff scheduling process (i.e. block schedule, vacation calendar etc.). Transcribe scheduling information, staff schedules in a timely manner. When necessary, enters visit information for those doing hard copy documentation. Reconciles daily reports and other information using various software applications. Facilitates verbal and written communication with staff. Coordinates with clinical managers as needed to ensure work flow. Maintains confidentiality of staff and corporate information according to policies and procedures. Demonstrates by attitude and action, recognition of the importance of service excellence with patients, families, internal customers, physicians and others. Puts into practice on a daily basis the philosophy that we can never do too much to meet our customer’s needs. Demonstrates by attitude and action recognition of the importance of interaction with co-workers. Communicates effectively and respectfully with co-workers and staff of other affiliates. Works as a team member helping others as needed to contribute to the overall success of Corewell Health. Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis. Performs other duties as assigned.
