Description

Under the general direction of the Assistant Director, the Staff Services Manager I (SSM I) serves as a working level supervisor responsible for the development and implementation of policy and procedure guidelines for the staff services function, which includes budget management, personnel and labor relations, contract and grant management and legislative regulation and policy proposals. The SSM I provides supervision over three Associate Government Program Analysts, one Staff Services Analyst (General).

Supervise, train, delegate, review, and monitor the work of Division Administration staff to ensure consistency and compliance with rules, regulations and departmental and state policies

  • Ensure the Department’s Equal Employment Opportunity Policy, Sexual Harassment Prevention Policy, Violence in the Workplace Prevention, Ethics Orientation for State Officials and Incompatible Activities are followed
  • Supervise the preparation of the AHFSS budget
  • Ensure monthly budget allotments, expenditures, projections, cash status reports and potential issues are correctly identified, and budget shortfalls or surpluses are brought to the attention of the Assistant Director and Director to discuss and determine the best option in moving forward
  • Provide direction on personnel transactions and other personnel related activities for the Division
  • Recommend alternate classifications when business needs of the branches/division change (expand or reduce)
  • Supervise the preparation of contract Request for Best Value Proposals, Request for Proposals, Request for Qualifications, Interagency Agreements, consultant contracts and other contract types
  • Oversee the annual department grant application process and procedure to request federal funds from the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (OES)

    • Perform other job-related duties as requested by supervisor
