Under the general direction of the Discrimination Complaint Investigation Unit (DCIU) Manager, Staff Services Manager (SSM) II, in the Equal Employment Opportunity Program (EEOP), the SSM I, Supervisory, functions as a supervisor in the Caltrans DCIU and the subject matter expert on EEO Director’s Policy and related Deputy Directives. The incumbent is a combination between a change agent and advocate for fair process. The Supervisor will assist the Department in providing a fair and equal environment, free from all forms of discrimination and harassment for its diverse workforce by performing investigations in a timely fashion.
In this capacity, the SSMI will manage DCIU efforts including but not limited to external complaints and process, data management of complaints, the complaint intake process, and the review of case reports for quality control and resolution, and training opportunities within EEOP’s Training and Resource Unit (TRU).
The DCIU Unit Supervisor works closely with the Training and Resource Unit Supervisor and is proactive in the approach to DCIU complaint trends. The Supervisor demonstrates a positive attitude and commitment to providing quality service that is accurate, timely, and exceeds customers’ expectations.
Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Staff Services Manager I exam.
