Description

Under delegation from the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) and administrative direction from the Chief Administration Officer, the Human Resources Director is responsible for all Human Resource activities for the 22nd District Agricultural Association (District). This position is a member of the Business Leadership Team. The duties of the Human Resources Director include, but are not limited to, leading, coaching, and directing multidisciplinary staff performing Human Resources (HR) functions. In addition, this position serves as the advisor and expert on a wide range of personnel and management issues including, but not limited to, performance management; corrective and adverse actions; recruitment; staff development; policy and procedure development, recommendation, and implementation; and consultative services to management. Due to the operational requirements of the position, the typical work week is Monday through Friday, but may be shifted to Wednesday through Sunday during certain parts of the year.

Working Conditions
Work environment is primary performed in a standard office with artificial light and climate control. Work activities involve: working in an office setting; sitting for prolonged periods of time; moving throughout the facility; and operating standard office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine finger dexterity and fine coordination including the use of a computer keyboard, mouse, calculator, telephone, and radio. Work activities involve the ability to: verbally communicate and hear to express and exchange information; see to perform assigned tasks; read, write, and speak English at a level required for successful job performance; work in a high pressure, fast-paced environment, under time critical demand; and sustain periods of mental activity.
Employee must be able to travel by private vehicle, District’s vehicle, or various modes of transportation to various locations. Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel will be required.
