PER CCR 249.3, THIS JOB CONTROL MAY BE USED TO FILL SUBSEQUENT VACANCIES.

Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager III, Personnel Officer, the incumbent is responsible for serving as the Assistant Branch Chief assisting the Branch Chief with high level complex issues and acting in their absence. The incumbent also manages the Classification & Pay (C&P) Unit, which includes Exams, as well as the Administrative Unit that includes, but is not limited to, policies, procedures, training, budget, contracts/purchases, front desk, etc. The incumbent also performs the most complex and sensitive administrative analytical projects related to the Department’s HR Program.

Working Conditions
The duties of this position are primarily conducted indoors. The HRB has a cubicle type setting with modular equipment. Incumbent will be assigned a laptop computer with email and various software and a cell phone to conduct the required duties.
Travel by State vehicle or other public transportation systems to various locations throughout the State may be required on occasion. Telework may occur as part of the incumbent’s ongoing regular schedule in accordance with CDFA’s Telework Policy, however, not for the first six months while training and learning the new role. Alternate Work Week Schedules (AWWS) are not authorized for supervisors/managers.
This position is located in the HRB and is privileged to confidential information. The employee acknowledges that sensitive and/or confidential information is not to be discussed, copied, or shared with unauthorized personnel outside of HRB. This position is designated under the Conflict-of-Interest Code and requires the incumbent to file a Form 700 as per CDFA policy.
