Our SRE team is responsible for the design, build and operation of Lightspeed’s infrastructure backing critical Lightspeed services. The platform covers the full cycle of software delivery, from CI/CD pipelines to high availability scalable production environments.

Responsibilities

As a member of the Site Reliability Engineering team you will:

  • Initiate and lead efforts to continuously improve our software delivery processes and practices, empowering and accelerating product development across multi-location, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Design and architect complex, highly reliable, scalable, and cost-efficient operational solutions, extensively using automation in configuring, managing, and monitoring systems.
  • Engage with and mentor team members, actively contributing to their growth and the scaling of the team, and leverage engineering expertise to influence strategic decisions.
  • Proactively advocate for best practices across your business unit, covering Infrastructure as Code, monitoring, high availability, disaster recovery, and security, and own the preparation and maintenance of team technical documentation.
  • Plan and test comprehensive disaster recovery scenarios and lead incident response, diagnosis, and resolution for critical production issues, driving blameless post-mortems.
  • Proactively monitor system performance and capacity, define and enforce Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and identify and eliminate toil through robust AI, automation and tooling.
