This role provides the opportunity to lead the design and development of complex backend systems supporting a suite of digital products, including order management, customer engagement, mobile apps, vehicle connectivity, and operational optimization tools. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define architecture, implement scalable solutions, and ensure the reliability and performance of mission-critical systems. The position combines technical leadership with hands-on engineering, allowing you to shape the software architecture while mentoring a team of high-performing engineers. Accountabilities Lead a team of backend engineers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support for high-quality software development. Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable backend systems that support digital products and integrations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, design, engineering) to define architecture, prioritize features, and make trade-offs that balance business needs and technical feasibility. Own the delivery of complex, large-scale technical projects, from early-stage design through production deployment. Establish and improve software engineering best practices, CI/CD pipelines, and operational standards. Evaluate and recommend tools, frameworks, and technologies to ensure sustainable growth of the backend platform. Partner with external service providers and integrate third-party platforms as needed. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with significant focus on backend systems and digital products. 3+ years of experience leading high-performing engineering teams. Strong technical expertise in APIs, microservices, and complex backend architectures. Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., Go, Java, Kotlin, Swift) and experience managing CI/CD pipelines. Knowledge of system vulnerabilities and security best practices. Experience in fast-paced or startup environments, including 0-to-1 product development. Demonstrated ability to guide large projects, define roadmaps, and collaborate across teams.
