We are looking for an experienced Staff Engineer to join the Daft engineering team working with the Head of Engineering and Engineering Leadership. We have some big aspirations for our products and some exciting technology challenges. We’re looking for the right person to help bring these products to life and help build great software that will deliver the future of one of Ireland’s most popular services.
This role will give you the opportunity to exercise and develop your engineering skills to help define the direction & implementation of the Daft Platforms and work with our Engineering Leadership to build a vision and roadmap to support our strategic goals.

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE DO I NEED

  • 7+ years experience developing commercial, large scale solutions
  • Strong communications skills - the ability to work well with others, share ideas and influence outcomes.
  • Excellent knowledge of and experience using Java and Object Oriented design principles.
  • Solid experience building cloud based applications, ideally using AWS.
  • Solid understanding of databases such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
  • Significant experience building RESTful APIs.
  • A self-starter with an analytical approach who is comfortable working on their own initiative and handling their time effectively.
  • Creative thinking and is willing and able to solve complicated technical problems that others cannot
  • A degree or masters in Computer Science/Engineering or a related field.
