Responsibilities

The Core Messaging team focuses on enhancing the performance and reliability of Braze’s most frequently used messaging channels. Our engineers are responsible for several high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems. We work closely with both internal and external teams to maintain Braze’s industry leadership in cost-effective scaling, competitive go-to-market timelines, and overall system uptime. We create innovative features that enable customers to effectively communicate their marketing goals around speed, accuracy and reliability and translate them into technical solutions.
As a Staff Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in technical leadership, influencing multiple teams within your division and ensuring alignment with both immediate and long-term strategic objectives. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional leaders, peers, and teammates to establish a clear technical direction and address persistent quality challenges. Your responsibilities will include direct project contributions, guiding technical direction, and mentoring other engineers. Your effectiveness will be assessed based on outcomes related to product health and software quality, the clarity and adoption of your technical vision, the quality of your collaborations and mentorship, and your contributions to strategic projects.
