We develop and operate one of the largest scale software platforms. The fleet consists of millions of virtual machines, generating terabytes of logs and processing exabytes of data per day. At our scale, we regularly observe cloud hardware, network, and operating system faults, and our software must gracefully shield our customers from any of the above.
The Database Platform is responsible for provisioning and managing the thousands of databases across all three cloud providers (Azure, AWS, GCP) in regions around the world that underpin the majority of Databricks’ real-time services. The team is in the process of adopting an open source distributed SQL engine to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of all databases across all cloud platforms. This is a mission-critical service which is held to the highest standards regarding operational rigor and performance.
We’re looking for a Staff Engineer to join our team.. This role requires driving innovation in a mission-critical environment, while also nurturing and ensuring the operational excellence of multiple teams.
