    Bankwest’s Technology Division develops and executes all technical change within the organisation ensuring the leverage of technology to deliver the Bankwest strategy. The Division works on a wide variety of technologies and projects with the support of a dedicated team in an Agile methodology. Our team is responsible for the world-leading application of technology and operations across every aspect of the bank – from product platforms for our customers, to essential tools within our business.
    You’ll be part of Customer Support Experience Crew - Our focus is on transforming customer interactions with the bank by introducing the latest innovative digital solutions in customer engagement. We are a small team that works closely with teams across Bankwest to drive continuous improvement, innovation and customer satisfaction by using the latest technology and industry best practice. We are looking for engineers who want to bring creativity and innovation in building Agentic AI and we have the team and backing to make it a reality. With a focus on building seamless experience, you’ll be embedded into a cross functional squad that is self-managing with end-to-end responsibility
    As a Staff Engineer, responsible for leading, promoting continuous improvement, developing technical roadmaps, and improving the quality of technical solutions by implementing industry best practises. You’ll also work closely with other technical leaders and product owners to document new changes and drive various initiatives. It will be key that you are able communicate well with the rest of the squad members, provide technical guidance and mentoring to the engineers in the team, while being exposed to some interesting challenges as we transition to the cloud.

We’re interested in hearing from people who:

  • Possesses full-cycle engineering experience: ideation, technical design, build, testing (unit, integration, system), release, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Leads technical design, architecture, and implementation for new and existing features, providing thought leadership and influencing technology direction across the team.
  • Provides technical governance and guidance throughout the complete solution delivery lifecycle.
  • Have the ability to work independently and drive a culture where quality, excellence and openness are championed.
  • Are constantly thinking outside the box and breaking boundaries to solve complex technical problems.
  • Can utilise strong understanding of core business and technical strategies to deliver best business outcomes through technical implementation.
  • Are enthusiastic about leading and championing strategic practice development.
  • Collaborates with peers and helps grow capabilities within the squad and across the crew.

Tech Skills:

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these will set you up for success in this team:

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and MS Power Platform including Power Apps and Power Automate/Flow as well as knowledge of various modern technologies.
  • Cloud platforms -> Azure and AWS services
  • Experience in building C# APIs and working with third party API’s
  • Sound understanding of application and system security best practices
  • Proven track record of managing multitenancy and security implications
  • Configuration as Code to manage your application configuration
  • Source control systems (Git), SAST/DAST, and with CI/CD toolsets
  • Any experience with the following would be great - AI Builder, Power Platform certification
