Responsibilities

This role is for you if you like being at the center of the action, it’s for you if you like to help people to grow and if you like solving non-trivial problems, transforming them into smaller easier problems.
We mostly work with a NodeJS backend (Javascript or Typescript), and use MongoDB, PostgreSQL and Redis to store our data. Our services run on AWS and Azure.
If you like tackling hard problems at scale and making them simpler, we can’t wait to talk to you. A passion for everything Identity and Access Management will also be of great help!

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will:

  • Gain expertise in identity and security while building innovative features and standards that extend the capabilities of Auth0’s platform to help organizations securely innovate around the world.
  • Improve and refactor both code and development processes in the core applications of Auth0, with a focus on enabling our product teams to safely move faster.
  • Work in a highly collaborative and cross-functional environment, working with talented engineers and partners across Product, Security, Design, and QA to deliver features that delight our customers.
  • Work with and gain exposure to modern cloud technologies and best practices, including AWS, Azure, and distributed systems at scale.

You’re a good fit for this role if:

  • You have 6+ years of software development experience.
  • You have practical experience using Node.js (JavaScript or Typescript).
  • Know how to design, build, and maintain APIs or libraries used across teams and by customers, and enjoy improving existing code for better maintainability and developer experience.
  • You are passionate about designing, implementing and troubleshooting distributed systems that are highly-reliable, maintainable and scalable.
  • Write well-tested, high-quality code and are experienced with a range of testing strategies (unit, integration, end-to-end, performance).
  • You have experience working with Cloud environments.
  • Bring a product-focused mindset, able to think from the customer’s perspective and collaborate closely with cross-functional partners.

Bonus points if:

  • You have experience in the identity and access management (IAM) domain.
  • You have experience working with a fully distributed, remote team.
  • You have a robust knowledge of security engineering and application security.
