The position provides specialist clinical care which may be in inpatient, outpatient and hospital liaison services as well as through the ADS Telehealth Service and the ADS telephony lines (the Drug and Alcohol Specialist Advisory Service). The staff specialist will provide clinical leadership and expertise across a range of substance use disorders including assessment, pharmacotherapy, withdrawal and relapse prevention and referral and liaison with key treatment providers (including GPs). The staff specialist will work in a multidisciplinary team to provide care using a range of technologies including face-to-face, telephone and videoconferencing. Selection Criteria• Possess, or be eligible to possess, specialist registration with registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA); Possess Fellowship of the Australasian Chapter of Addiction Medicine, Royal Australasian College of Physicians or other relevant Australasian Specialist College including Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, Addiction Psychiatry certificate; Demonstrated knowledge, skills and high standards of clinical practice in Addiction Medicine commensurate to experience which is appropriate to the requirements of the position; If current Fellowship is with another relevant Specialist College, a commitment to gaining the Fellowship of the Chapter of Addiction Medicine while working with the St Vincents Alcohol and Drug Services Demonstrated leadership skills that support and foster innovation to create a learning culture, with proven ability to improve the quality of services and patient care outcomes; Demonstrated ability to provide high quality compassionate medical care as evidenced by recent practice experience in working congenially and collaboratively as both a leader and member of a multidisciplinary team, and as a provider of services that engender high levels of patient satisfaction and experience Demonstrated ongoing contribution to the development, dissemination, and translation of new knowledge and practices commensurate with work in an academic teaching hospital environment; Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries.
