Responsibilities

Review and monitor women attending obstetric outpatient services who receive a consistent woman centered quality service across Antenatal clinics, Feto‐Maternal Assessment Unit & Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit.

  • Provide clinical governance & obstetric leadership for Birthing unit policy and procedure development
  • Active surveillance of obstetric KPIs including maternal & perinatal morbidity and mortality
  • Review and monitor postpartum care of women in the hospital and via the midwifery‐support program at home following early discharge
  • Develop and expand models of care to meet the needs of women, including continuity of care high risk and low‐risk midwifery models, as well as GPSC
  • Focus on improving obstetric outcomes for vulnerable women ‐ including Aboriginal, CALD, migrant and refugee groups, and women with identified psycho‐social vulnerabilities.
  • Demonstrate ongoing commitment to improving obstetric indicators ‐ ACHS, WHA, HACs.
