Responsibilities

ROLE

As a Staff Storage Engineer within Cloud Infrastructure Storage, you will work with a technically diverse team of storage engineers. You and your team will build, maintain, and ensure the scale, performance and reliability of the storage fleet meets and exceeds requirements.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO IN THIS ROLE:

  • Help develop cloud infrastructure storage services, and automation tools that are specified, documented, and testable.
  • Collaborate with the build of orchestration workflows by leveraging features of the ServiceNow platform.
  • Write test plans and test automation for cloud infrastructure storage.
  • Deploy new storage systems and manage a worldwide fleet of storage arrays.
  • Manage and resolve challenging break/fix storage cases with and for ServiceNow partners.
  • Ensure that all storage capacity, reliability, and performance needs can be met, and on schedule.
  • Collaborate with multiple different technical teams, including storage vendor support teams, to resolve issues and create new efficiencies.
  • Create and/or refine existing processes and procedures to improve efficiencies within the environment.
  • Continually learn new cloud and storage technologies as they are introduced into the environment.
    Qualifications

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU HAVE:

  • Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI’s potential impact on the function or industry.
  • 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or equivalent experience.
  • Good understanding and experience with S3-compatible object storage, block storage using NVMeoF (RoCE, TCP), and network attached storage using NFSv3/v4.
  • Broad knowledge of enterprise class storage hardware (e.g. Dell, Pure, HP, NetApp etc.)
  • Have a good understanding of deduplication and compression techniques.
  • Expertise with the provisioning lifecycle of storage resources: volume, NFS export, S3 bucket.
  • Strong experience with Red Hat Linux, CentOS, and comfortable operating at the command line.
  • Experience with virtualization solutions, such as VMware ESXi and RedHat OpenStack Platform
  • Experience with Flash Storage solutions.
  • Working knowledge of networking/server architecture and hardware.
  • Experience with a programming language, such as Python and version control systems like Git.
  • Experience with Linux shell scripting using Bash.
  • Experience with AI coding assistant offerings, e.g. Windsurf, Copilot.
  • Knowledge of configuration management systems, e.g. Ansible, Puppet.
  • Working knowledge of public cloud providers (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
  • Understanding of how to develop dashboards and reports using Grafana and Splunk.
  • Good understanding of capacity planning.
  • Experience working in a multi-team enterprise service delivery environment
