The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff System Administrator for Applications (OpenShift/AWS) to manage, configure, and secure a hybrid IT infrastructure that spans both on-premises and cloud environments. This role requires a proactive and collaborative professional to deploy new components, implement effective monitoring for releases, and create/maintain detailed runbooks. You’ll play a pivotal role in evaluating and integrating new technologies into production environments while working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure system reliability and efficiency.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Manage, install, configure, and maintain application software across both on-premises and cloud-based environments.
  • Collaborate with peers and other teams to deploy and release updated software versions.
  • Ensure all installations and updates comply with Change Control policies.
  • Develop and maintain application configurations, including comprehensive runbook documentation.
  • Evaluate, test, and install patches to maintain system performance and security.
  • Research and recommend tools and technologies that align with business needs.
  • Monitor and fine-tune systems proactively to address potential issues before they escalate.
  • Conduct regular reviews of system audit log events to maintain a secure environment.
  • Provide technical expertise and collaborate with the IT Operations team to optimize policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Technical/bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or related careers.
  • Intermediate or higher English proficiency.
  • Solid expertise in Linux Operating Systems.
  • Strong experience with container technologies such as OpenShift, Docker, or Kubernetes.
  • Proven experience managing AWS services.
  • Experience with supporting Java applications in enterprise environments.
  • Hands-on experience with application servers like Apache Tomcat or Oracle Application Server.
  • Proficiency in scripting with Bash or Python for administrative tasks.
  • Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
