Job Description
Role overview ( Network SME)
Network Administrator will be working in a team which support our strategic partner in Germany by implementing and maintaining the system environments hosting ServiceNow applications. Working closely with the Global ServiceNow Team, they will help deliver seamless operational support to German customers.They have 6+ years in Linux systems and enterprise networks and are skilled in routing, DNS, firewalls, cloud infrastructure, and scripting (Bash, Python). They are focused on secure, high-performance operations and cross-team collaboration. Key responsibilities include network and system administration, database management, and DevOps operations—ensuring a stable, secure, and scalable infrastructure aligned with evolving business needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in production engineering or SRE roles, with a strong focus on network administration
  • Deep understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols, DNS, load balancing, and firewall management
  • Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash)
  • Experience with cloud-native networking (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and hybrid environments
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across OSI layers and familiarity with packet analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark, tcpdump)
  • Fluent in German and English (written and verbal)
  • Ability to be on call if required
  • Ability to travel to our customer site in Germany

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with zero-trust networking, SD-WAN, or service mesh architectures
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes networking and container orchestration
  • Certifications such as CCNP, AWS Advanced Networking, or equivalent
    Due to the nature of the role and regulatory requirements for this role, only candidates who are German or EU citizens can be considered.

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable production infrastructure with a focus on network reliability and performance
  • Collaborate with SREs, platform engineers, and security teams to enforce network policies and improve observability
  • Develop automation for network configuration, monitoring, and failover strategies
  • Own and evolve network topology, DNS management, firewall rules, and VPN architecture
