Job Description
As our Staff Technical Product Manager – Energy Management & IoT, you will shape the future of clean energy at the intersection of connected devices and renewable power. You’ll closely work with our partners to define the vision for Enpal’s Virtual Power Plant (VPP) and lead innovation across the solar, EV charging, and heat pump domains, turning complex technical ecosystems into seamless, customer-focused and highly integrated solutions and help orchestrate thousands of distributed energy assets into a unified VPP. Your focus area is the “downstream” part of the Virtual Power Plant shaping asset (Wallbox, Inverter, Battery, Heatpump) integration, operation and energy management and being the interface to the upstream part (pooling of assets, energy market integration).

At Enpal, you will be responsible for:
- Technical Product Vision & Strategy: Own the vision & strategy for Enpal’s connected energy ecosystem, defining a technical roadmap that combines IoT-enabled devices with advanced energy management features to optimize solar, EV charging, and heating systems and to build Europe’s largest VPP.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Lead cross-functional delivery of high-performance features, working with engineering, hardware, and domain specialists to ensure robust device integration and seamless customer experiences.
- Stakeholder Management & Communication: Drive alignment across the organization by managing stakeholders at all levels. Provide high-level reporting on key initiatives, metrics, and OKRs. Translate renewable energy opportunities into scalable, integrated technical solution
- Technical Product Development: Manage the full product lifecycle from discovery to delivery — prioritizing based on impact, technical constraints, and scalability. Maintain a technical landscape overview showing system integration points, data flows, and architectural dependencies to enable effective cross-team collaboration.
- Developer Engagement: Ensure continuous alignment with engineering teams - provide context around the “why” behind decisions. Promote a culture where developers feel ownership of technical outcomes, driving developer productivity and creativity.
Qualifications

You have 6+ years in technical product management, delivering impactful solutions in connected device or energy technology ecosystems.
- You have proven leadership in cross-domain product environments, having led other product managers or multidisciplinary teams.
- You having experience in the renewable energy industry, with energy markets or with IoT/embedded software development would be a plus.
- You have the strategic and technical depth to turn renewable energy challenges into scalable product opportunities.
- You have strong product discovery and prioritization skills, balancing new features, technical debt, and platform health.
- You have data-driven decision-making expertise, with the ability to define, track, and act on relevant metrics.
- You have outstanding communication skills in both English and German, translating complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
- You are self-driven and adaptable in ambiguous environments, taking ownership and driving results with a pragmatic, iterative approach.
