Alkami is looking to add a Staff Technical Program Manager (TPM) to our Technology organization. The TPM provides program management leadership and support for both strategic and operational activities across our technology and product teams and will be responsible for key deliverables including engineering operational metrics, effective SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) workflows and frameworks, program and project plans and various communication artifacts as part of our SDLC.
The ideal candidate is an aspiring leader and has an outstanding technical foundation with solid business savvy. You will guide teams through planning, designing and delivering large-scale services to our clients and partners. You excel at building and developing relationships with key stakeholders across product and technology organizations, constantly leaning in on these relationships to influence negotiations and impact without authority. You navigate organizations and leadership structures comfortably. You have a strong growth mindset. You are excited about guiding internal teams towards delivering against product and platform visions.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Own, manage, and drive program execution through working and communicating with cross-functional development teams and stakeholders
  • Partner with product management and technology leadership to evangelize the business case including scope, strategies, the problem(s) we are solving, business requirements and the costs/benefits Maintain program metrics, dashboards, and project statuses.
  • Contribute to designing and implementation of metrics, dashboards and various program management frameworks
  • Partner with the program team (and its various project team leads) to determine MVPs, milestones, and project schedule
  • Drive the alignment for priorities and sequencing of work items against other work items within the program or other competing organizational priorities
  • Manage the critical path of the program by identifying risks, devising and following through mitigation plans to ensure that the program/project stays on track, or is brought back on track in the event of delays or blockers
  • Lead critical scrum events to drive action items forward, decisioning, cross-group dependency collaboration, actionable insights and strategic discussions such as scrum of scrums, pre-mortems, retros, etc.
  • Create and maintain program artifacts such as project plans, communication plans, team agreements, decision logs, RACI matrices, roadmaps, etc.
  • Ensure teams are accountable for adhering to the SDLC processes in place. Collect feedback on process improvements. Contribute to implementation (or integration into the existing SDLC) of repeatable & predictable processes for initiation, tracking, governance, review and delivery of programs and projects
  • Work with onshore and offshore development teams

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of demonstrated success in Technical Program Management with large, complex, software design, development, deployment and support initiatives
  • Responsible self-starter with a sense of urgency balanced by attention to detail
  • Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to balance competing priorities
  • Strong communication skills to articulate technical matters to a broader, diverse audience, written and verbal
  • Proven problem solving and critical thinking
  • Ability to leverage program management competencies to achieve desired outcomes and create process efficiencies
  • Ability to create focused ideas and practices within an evolving work structure
  • Honed in skills in analyzing patterns of information to generate valuable insights
  • Ability to understand and decipher complex technical information and simplify it to illustrate the relevant concepts, processes or data
  • Experience of building program management metrics and effectively using in program management delivery
  • Deep experience in deriving milestones, gathering requirements, and maintaining program delivery and project plans
  • Extensive experience in designing and implementing technical policies, process documents, frameworks or workflows
  • Fluent in Waterfall and Agile (SCRUM, XP, Lean & Kanban, etc.) methodologies
  • Fluent in various project management tools (e.g., Smartsheets, etc), work management tools (e.g., Jira, etc) and concepts/tools in knowledge management

Desired Skills:

  • Master in Business Administration
  • PMP or similar Program or Project Management Certification
  • Working knowledge of technology products and concepts:
  • Atlassian Jira and Confluence, Gitlab
  • Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC) and SDLC
  • AWS stack and associated common tooling choices
  • Proficiency in programming language concepts and general industry advancements languages and platforms

The salary range for this position is: $128,800 - $193,200
