    Role Summary
    Are you a highly experienced Technical Program Manager with a proven track record of successfully delivering high-quality software for evolving product platforms in complex, integrated software-hardware environments? We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented individual to take a leading role in managing the software delivery for our existing vehicle line as well as supporting new product development initiatives. As a critical member of our Software Technical Program Team, you will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless integration of new features and supporting product content changes, while upholding the highest standards of software quality.

Responsibilities

  • Define and manage comprehensive plans for software-impacting hardware changes and new software features, for both consumer and commercial vehicles
  • Align software release plans to company and program milestones
  • Drive delivery of cross-functional software features
  • Cultivate strong working relationships and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless software integration and support for new product content
  • Take ownership of prioritizing and driving the swift resolution of software issues that arise during development
  • Manage software-hardware integration efforts
  • Coordinate verification test plans tailored to the unique software and hardware configurations of new product content
  • Deliver clear, concise, and insightful updates on the progress of software delivery to the program team, executive leadership, and key stakeholders
  • Proactively identify potential risks to software delivery timelines or quality, implementing effective mitigation strategies and healthily escalating concerns as needed
  • Identify and execute continuous process improvements

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical field
  • 6+ years of progressive Technical or Engineering Program Management experience, demonstrating a strong and successful track record in software delivery for complex, integrated software-hardware products
  • Experience leading the development and production launch of multiple new products that involve software and electrical hardware
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Deep expertise in both Agile and Waterfall development methodologies, with practical and advanced proficiency in Jira and other program management tools to manage complex software delivery

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a software or hardware product development engineer
  • Experience with over-the-air (OTA) software update strategies and deployment for connected devices or systems
  • Experience in the automotive industry

Pay Disclosure
Salary Range for Palo Alto, California Based Candidates: $167,400 - $209,300 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
Salary Range for Irvine, California Based Candidates: $154,000 - $192,500 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
Salary Range for British Columbia Based Candidates: $123,200 CAD - $154,000 CAD (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
