JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and assistance to individuals in a staffed residential home. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other related disabilities. As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for ensuring that clients receive the support they need to maintain their independence and dignity.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in senior care, home care, or caregiving is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of medication administration protocols is beneficial.
  • A background in group homes or assisted living environments will be considered an asset.
  • Pay will be determined by experience.

Responsibilities
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the client’s living space.
  • Support individuals with disabilities in achieving their personal goals and enhancing their independence.
  • Document care provided and report any concerns or changes in client condition to appropriate personnel.
  • Engage clients in activities that promote mental stimulation and physical well-being.
  • Hiking and outdoor activities, will be required.
  • Strong personal boundaries, with a commitment to working as a team.
